Smile! For the Children is an Italian-style afternoon of delicious food, drink and family fun and games in support of children in need in Thailand. Bringing together fine Italian art, food and drink, the event will feature the exquisite floral art of artist Arianna Caroli, and regional Italian cuisine of Chef Anna Borrasi, Chef-Patron of iO Italian Osteria Bangkok.

The two Italian friends will be merging their artistic and culinary abilities to raise funds for their favourite charities, Operation Smile Thailand, a local foundation supporting young cleft lip and cleft palate patients with safe surgery, and the Xaverian Missionaries, who provide help to underprivileged children in the slums of Klong Toey.

Originally from Orvieto in Italy, Caroli opened her studio in New York, where her work was noticed by Gene Moore, the artistic director at Tiffany & Co. She has since exhibited globally over the years, across Europe, the United States and in Southeast Asia.

A native of Naples, Chef Anna Borrasi has spent her entire life in the culinary world, including 12 years at the helm of the famed Il Corallo restaurant in Rome. She has since opened iO Italian Osteria restaurants across Singapore and Thailand.

Both Caroli and Borrasi are deeply passionate about giving back – in particular, to underprivileged children – with both closely following the philosophy of the Italian poet Gabriele D'Annunzio, 'I have what I gave'.

Participants in Smile! For the Children will have the exclusive chance to purchase limited edition Smile! Art Masks and other art and fashion items by Arianna Caroli, while enjoying delicious Italian small bites and drinks by Chef Anna Borrasi. Children will be able to enjoy a special kids' activity zone – and the whole family can be part of the Smile! raffle draw.

100% of proceeds from the sale of Arianna Caroli Smile! Art Masks will go to support young cleft palate patients and underprivileged children of Klong Toey.
