The Thomson Reuters Foundation (TRF), in collaboration with the Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce (TICC) and the Thai-European Business Association (TEBA), is hosting a Responsible Business Exhibition exclusively for the Thai private sector. This event will equip attendees with the knowledge and connections to adapt to the rapidly changing legislative and regulatory landscape around responsible business practices, with a particular focus on remediation.
In light of incoming global legislation - including the EU's Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence (CSDDD), Reporting Directives (CSRD) and the German Supply Chain Act – the event will open with a short fire-side chat on what these regulations mean for businesses in Thailand. This discussion will touch on the legal frameworks behind these regulations and highlight practical steps that businesses can take to ensure compliance and maintain competitiveness on the international market.
The event will continue with a business exhibition that will feature relevant tools and services that businesses can engage with as they seek to advance their responsible business practices. The exhibition will open with the presentation of a business case study that TRF has recently developed in collaboration with Business for Social Responsibility (BSR) and a Thai company. The study focuses on the importance of running an in-depth diagnosis on existing responsible business practices to identify challenges and solutions for businesses looking to align with international regulations and guiding principles. The session will then follow with the exhibition, in which up to three service providers will be allocated a stall that businesses can visit and gather information and create connections.
This event will be followed by the complementary multi-stakeholder conference "Taking an ecosystem approach to labour rights and ethical recruitment in Thailand" which will be delivered in the afternoon of the same day in the same venue. This multistakeholder conference will include an in-depth discussion on the impact of the new global legislations on Thai businesses, communities, and workers alike. More information can be found here.
Both events are part of the Thomson Reuters Foundation's project 'Combating human trafficking and modern slavery through ecosystem support in Thailand.
