What is Tiramisù?
Tiramisù is a classic Italian dessert, that believed to have originated in the Veneto region of Italy, specifically in Treviso, during the late 1960s or early 1970s. The name "tiramisù" meaning "lift me up" in Italian, reflects its invigorating ingredients—coffee, mascarpone cheese, and cocoa. The dessert gained fame through the Le Beccherie restaurant in Treviso. Tiramisù's combination of soaked ladyfingers, creamy mascarpone filling, and a dusting of cocoa has made it a beloved treat worldwide, inspiring numerous variations while remaining a staple of Italian cuisine.

The BEST Tiramisù Competition represents an exciting opportunity awaits Tiramisù lovers in Thailand. Whether you're a professional chef or passionate amateur, this is your chance to showcase your Tiramisù-making skills. Tiramisù, the most loved dessert in Italy and worldwide, stands as an icon of the Italian culinary scene. This competition celebrates this timeless dessert, inviting participants from diverse culinary backgrounds to demonstrate their experise and creativity in crafting the perfect Tiramisù.
Categories
Competition Rules
a) Application Process: Candidates must apply online through the TICC official website and submit their recipe and dish photographs for a first screening. Selection is open only for professionals. During application, applicants must submit a) CV and b) profile picture, c) Pictures of their tiramisù creation.
b) A registration fee of 1,000 THB is required, which includes Application Kit, as follows:
c) Ingredients: participants are allowed to bring their own ingredients and/or use the supplied ones from the Application kit (that will be provided on the Competition date).
d) Preparation Time: Participants may choose if they want to prepare the tiramisù at home and to plate and serve their creation to the jury. For the former, each participant will have a maximum of 15 minutes to prepare their creation. For the latter, each participant will have a maximum of 5 minutes to plate their creation. [The latter option is recommended]
e) Submission: Participants must present their finished Tiramisù to the jury for evaluation. Evaluation will be based on the following criteria: taste, presentation and serving.
Jury
A panel of esteemed judges will be responsible for selecting the winners based on 1) Appearance, 2) Texture, 3) Flavor, 4) Authenticity/Creativity 5) Cleanliness & Organization and 6)Overall Enjoyment
Each criteria will be assigned with a maximum of 5 points each, making the maximum amount of 30 points.
Prizes & Awards
Prizes will be awarded to the top creations, and all participants will enjoy a celebration of Italy's favorite dessert.
