"Discover an exciting project brought to you by Thai Puan Creative Hub, in partnership with the prestigious Naresuan University (Faculty of Architecture, Art and Design) from Thailand and the innovative IED Rome - Jewelry Design Department from Italy.
This international endeavor combines the talents of 29 students, 15 pairs from both universities with the expertise of top craft workshops in Sukhothai, specializing in textiles, ceramics, and jewelry.
In a unique pairing, designers from both countries teamed up to create and bring to life a project that beautifully blends contemporary Thai culture with Italian style and design.
We challenged these talented students to represent their generation, capturing their dreams, thoughts, and worries. Their creations were aimed at young audiences, both locally and globally. Our goal was to develop something truly distinctive, breaking away from traditional silversmith styles while remaining connected to Thailand's rich heritage.
Over the course of eight weeks, fifteen pairs—comprising thirty exceptional students—worked tirelessly to conceptualize and transform their ideas into tangible products. The best four projects, each falling under a specific category (Best Project, Best Fabric Design, Best Ceramic Design, and Best Collaboration), were brought to life by our skilled artisans, making the leap from paper to reality.
Get ready to explore this captivating collaboration that celebrates the fusion of cultures and craftsmanship from new designers from both universities in 'Design Pal | Design as a tool to develop products, territory, collaboration, and friendship' on 4th July to 6th August 2023 (closed Mondays), from 10.30 - 19.00 hrs. at TCDC Bangkok, Creative Space, 5th floor.
