The Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the Netherlands, French and British Chambers of Commerce, with the support of UN Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNISDR), UN ESCAP and its Sustainable Business Network's Task Force on Disaster Risk Reduction and Asian Disaster Preparedness Center (ADPC), is organizing a breakfast talk under the topic "Private Sector Benefits' from Engaging in Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM): How Natural Hazards Affect Your Business and How to Build an Efficient Business Continuity Plan" on Tuesday June 9, 2015 at The St. Regis hotel Bangkok, Astor 2.
The talk will provide insightful information about how natural hazards can affect a business and how to prevent them from affecting the employees, assets and investments. The speakers will showcase real business cases where companies implemented disaster risk reduction measures by focusing on business continuity planning (BCP). The same concept can be also used to assess long term risks, reduce vulnerability and maintain businesses' performances, competitiveness and sustainability.

Andrew is the chairman of the Joint Foreign Chamber of Commerce in Thailand AEC committee as well a member of the Board of Trade investment committee. For more than 15 years, Andrew has focused on BCP, Crisis Management and Risk Management. He has provided these services on 4 Continents and for a wide variety of clients including Banking and Finance, Insurance, Logistics, Telecommunications, Manufacturing, Engineering, Business Services and others. His clients have ranged from small Thai operations to US Stock Market listed companies operating across many countries.

Dr. Puji currently works as a regional adviser on disaster risk reduction of the Bangkok -based UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific. Holding doctoral degree in Public Administration and Masters in Social Work, Dr. Pujiono has been serving in different capacity in the UN primarily in humanitarian response and disaster management including his posting in Geneva and more recently as manager of Comprehensive Disaster Management Programme a collaboration between UNDP and Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief of Bangladesh. Previously he also served as disaster management expert in ASEAN Committee on Disaster Management.

Aslam has more than 20 years of experience in the development field, including 13 years of work in disaster risk management in South Asia and South East Asia. Since 2011, Aslam has been actively involved in engaging the private sectos in disaster risk reduction under the APEC, DFAT, Government of Australia, as well as Vietnam and Thailand government public-private partnership initiatives. He is a resource person and mentor for the APEC's SME and disaster resilience project, which promotes business continuity planning. He has served as Team Leader for the Thailand-specific project on private sector engagement for natural disaster risk reduction for resilient economies through business continuity planning and management.
Mr. Vasin Ngamson
Managing Director, Agribusiness Co., Ltd.
Vasin is a Managing Director at Agribusiness Co., Ltd., an integrated leader in poultry automation equipment in Thailand. Having participated in ADPC's Business Continuity Planning Orientation Workshop for SMEs back in 2014, he implemented business continuity planning (BCP) to safeguard his company from potential natural hazards, particularly flooding.
Mr. Suriya Paripunna
Manager – Corporate BCM, Supervision & Coordination for BCP, The Siam Cement PLC.
Suriya has been working for the Siam Cement Group (SCG) for more than 10 years with 5 years of experience in the unit of Business Continuity Management (BCM). During the flooding crisis in 2011, the Corporate BCM – SCG applied the Business Continuity Plan (BCP) to manage the crisis and risks that could affect the security of the staffs and stability of the company. Suriya holds degrees in Public Health, Environmental Engineering and Business Administration.
