Overview
The Thomson Reuters Foundation, in collaboration with the Thai-Italian Chamber of Commerce (TICC), is inviting all actors working on labour rights and modern slavery in Thailand to the conference, "Taking an ecosystem approach to Decent Work and Labour Rights in Thailand".
The event will be held in-person in Bangkok on the afternoon of 15th August 2023 and will gather representatives of the anti-slavery, labour rights, and responsible business spaces to discuss how to advance on these issues through cross-sectoral collaboration.
The event will gather renowned speakers representing the Thailand civil society, and private sector offering a space to discuss the impact that the incoming global legislation, including the German supply Chain Act and the Incoming European Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence (CSDDD) and Reporting (CSRD) Directives, will have on businesses communities, and workers alike.
The event will close with a networking reception that will be open to all participants.
This event is part of the project "Combating human trafficking and modern slavery ecosystem through support" that the Thomson Reuters Foundation is implementing in Colombia, India, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Audience
The event is aimed at senior representatives of the responsible business sector in Thailand, especially those working on fair labour and labour rights and interested in amplifying workers' voices. Specifically, the event will gather representatives of industry associations, international organizations and international NGOs, businesses, national CSOs and NGOs and lawyers.
Venue and time
The event will be delivered in-person at Bangkok Marriott Marquis's Queen Garden, in Bangkok, on the 15th of August 2023.
The event will run from 2.30 to 4pm, with registration starting at 2pm. The day will close with a reception.
